Job summary

A leading food service provider in Seattle is seeking a Senior Financial Manager to oversee all accounting functions, develop annual budgets, and provide financial guidance. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and financial management skills, alongside a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field. This full-time position offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, retirement, and tuition reimbursement. Hours are Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5-10 years of broad-based Financial Management experience.
  • Experience in Manufacturing or Food Processing industry is preferred.
  • Must possess effective employee relations skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements.
  • Develop annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Analyze and prepare weekly Flash Forecasts for sales and expenses.
  • Manage local accounting staff.
  • Conduct Actual vs. Budget and Forecast variance analysis.

Job description

Essential Functions
  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements.
  • Develop annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Analyze and prepare weekly Flash Forecasts for sales and expenses.
  • Oversee all accounting functions and processes.
  • Manage local accounting staff.
  • Reconcile General Ledger in SAGE.
  • Ensure proper account coding and prepare journal entries.
  • Reconcile GL, Billing, and Inventory ledgers.
  • Process updates in the Fairs Billing Database (e.g., prices, flight master).
  • Implement internal controls and procedures to ensure accounting record integrity.
  • Analyze food costs and costs of goods sold.
  • Provide financial guidance to the unit General Manager.
  • Participate in Process Improvement initiatives.
  • Mentor and train accounting staff.
  • Forecast weekly and monthly revenue, labor hours, labor dollars, variable costs, and period P&L.
  • Review financial data to identify variances and initiate corrective actions with operations and sales groups.
  • Conduct Actual vs. Budget and Forecast variance analysis (food costs, labor hours, overtime, labor costs, wage rates, operating costs).
  • Perform ad hoc analysis as required.
  • Track inventory movement by customers, including scrap, excess, spoilage, and obsolescence.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Minimum of a B.S. degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have organizational skills, be detail-oriented, and be able to multitask
  • Must have good communication skills, both written and oral
  • Manufacturing experience and/or Food Processing industry a plus
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of broad-based Financial Management
  • Excellent financial management and leadership skills
  • Effective employee relations skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite, specifically in Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize and report cost drivers and/or saving opportunities in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems in an environment where root causes may be complex

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
