Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a retail environment.
• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or CMA is a plus).
• Advanced proficiency in retail ERP systems, inventory software, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting functions including GL, AP, AR, payroll, and monthly closing processes.
• Oversee inventory valuation, margin analysis, open-to-buy planning, and shrink controls.
• Monitor daily cash balances and provide rolling cash flow forecasts.
• Prepare timely monthly financial statements and manage local/state sales tax compliance.
• Partner with Owner to evaluate promotional performance, pricing strategies, and expansion plans.

Reporting directly to the Owner, this hands‑on leader will spearhead financial reporting, internal controls, and strategic budgeting to maximize profitability across all retail channels.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Oversight: Manage all accounting functions including GL, AP, AR, payroll, and monthly closing processes.
• Retail Analytics: Oversee inventory valuation, margin analysis, open-to-buy planning, and shrink controls.
• Cash Flow Management: Monitor daily cash balances and provide accurate rolling cash flow forecasts to the Owner.
• Reporting & Compliance: Prepare timely monthly financial statements and manage local/state sales tax compliance.
• Strategic Advisory: Partner with the Owner to evaluate promotional performance, pricing strategies, and expansion plans.
