Job summary

Baptist Health System is seeking a Controller to lead the General Accounting portion of the Finance Department. The role covers General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and Fixed Asset Accounting, with responsibility for accurate expense reporting in the Income Statement and reconciliations.

The successful candidate will support senior leadership and facility directors, drive financial reporting, and participate in audits while completing competencies within the introductory period.

Qualifications

• Minimum education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum experience: 5 years healthcare accounting experience, 3 years supervisory experience.
• Preferred: CPA certification.
• Coursework/completions as relevant to healthcare accounting and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee General Ledger reporting, Accounts Payable, Payroll and Fixed Asset Accounting.
• Ensure accuracy of Baptist Health System financial statements, esp. income statement expenses.
• Review Balance Sheet reconciliations and financial reporting to Vanguard.
• Support senior management and facility directors; assist during financial audits.
• Perform assigned duties within the introductory period and adapt to organizational needs.

Job Summary

The Controller is responsible for the General Accounting portion of the BHS Finance Department. This includes General Ledger reporting, Accounts Payable, Payroll and Fixed Asset Accounting. Responsible for accuracy of BHS Financial Statements, in particular the expense portion of the Income Statement. Responsible for reviewing all Balance Sheet Reconciliations. Responsible for financial reporting to Vanguard. Responsible for Financial Audit’s performed on BHS facilities. Responsible for supporting the needs of Senior Management, Regional and Facility Department Directors. Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other duties as assigned.
