Job description

We're hiring an experienced Controller for a growing construction organization in St. Augustine. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an established accounting professional with strong construction experience, demonstrated career stability, and the technical depth to lead the accounting function.

Up to $130K + performance-based bonus

What You'll Do

• Oversee general accounting, including AP, AR, general ledger, and tax-related functions
• Lead month-end and year-end close and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting
• Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Manage budgeting, forecasting, and budget-to-actual analysis
• Coordinate annual audits and work directly with external auditors
• Develop and maintain accounting procedures and internal controlsPartner with project managers and operations on construction-related financial matters
• Provide financial analysis to support strategic decision-making
• Lead and hold accounting team members accountable for deadlines and deliverables
• Partner closely with the CFO and senior leadership

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 5-7+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Construction or closely related project-based accounting experience
• Strong Controller-level knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, audits, and internal controls
• Experience within a sizable organization, ideally $75M+ in revenue
• Previous accounting team leadership experience
• Demonstrated career stability and progressive responsibility
• Construction accounting software experience preferred
