Job summary

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions, a family-owned hospitality leader, seeks a Controller to guide financial health and growth across a dynamic resort environment. You will advise executive leadership, oversee planning, analysis, and reporting, and ensure compliance while maximizing profitability across resort operations.

You will lead a finance team, drive audits and tax filings, and champion process improvements, all while embodying leadership that aligns with our Love-driven Promise and community

Qualifications

  • Four-year college degree in accounting or finance, with hospitality experience preferred.
  • CPA certification or equivalent professional level experience required.
  • Experience in resorts/hospitality finance, with 5–10 years in related roles.

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial strategy, planning, and analysis for the resort portfolio.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting to leadership.
  • Ensure GAAP compliance and strong internal controls across operations.
  • Provide actionable insights to executives for decisive business actions.
  • Supervise and develop the finance/accounting team to high performance.
  • Coordinate audits, tax filings, and external financial relationships.
  • Drive process improvements and optimize financial systems.

Controller

Kalahari Resorts & Conventions is seeking a Controller. In this role, you'll drive the financial health and long-term growth of a dynamic, fast-paced resort environment. As a trusted advisor to executive leadership, you'll oversee financial planning, analysis, and reporting, while ensuring compliance and optimizing profitability across resort operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead financial strategy, planning, and analysis to support resort-wide goals
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory standards, and internal controls
  • Provide actionable insights to executive leadership for business decision-making
  • Supervise and develop the finance/accounting team
  • Coordinate audits, tax filings, and external financial relationships
  • Drive process improvements and optimize financial systems
What We're Looking For:
  • A four-year college degree (accounting preferred) or equivalent education/experience.
  • Requires professional certification (e.g., CPA) or the equivalent level of experience.
  • Experience with resorts, hotels, and the hospitality industry
  • Experience required by position is five to ten years of employment in a related position (Finance/Accounting) with hospitality companies/organizations is preferred.
