Job summary

Crawford Thomas Recruiting is seeking aSenior Accountant for our Omaha-based client. You will manage all accounting areas including billing, financial statements, general ledger, payroll, budgeting, tax compliance, and various analyses.

Hybrid work environment in the Omaha HQ with quarterly Castaway Week events, all-expenses-paid, plus generous PTO and 401(k) matching. 5+ years of experience and strong GAAP knowledge required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration with accounting emphasis, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience.
• Experience as accountant, supervisor, or manager.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial controls.
• Experience with health plans and benefits is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and organize financial statements for record and review; oversee quarterly/annual reports and budgets.
• Advise on financial analyses for capital investments, pricing, and cost benchmarks.
• Coordinate audits and ensure compliance with laws governing finances and tax filings.
• Lead internal reporting improvements and collaborate with department heads on forecasting.

Job description

Manage all aspects of accounting: billing, financial statements, general ledger, cost accounting, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, budgeting, tax compliance, inventory accounting, revenue recognition, and various special analyses.

Responsibilities

• Oversee payments of all accounts, ensuring all accounts are paid on time.
• Process accounts and collect payments.
• Prepare and organize financial statements for record and review.
• Prepare quarterly/annual financial reports as well as manage quarterly/annual budgets and forecasts.
• Advise on financial analyses and decision-making regarding capital investments, pricing, contract negotiations, significant costs, and benchmarks.
• Organize information and statements for audits and both internal and external auditors.
• Define, benchmark, and implement operational best practices.
• Comply with all local, state, and federal laws regarding finances, tax filings, and reporting.
• Steer the internal reporting system in collaboration with department heads, including automation of reporting out of the time accounting system.
• Project controlling entails project calculations with Applications Engineer and project cost tracking, invoicing, and change order management support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in accounting, or a related field.
• Ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience in the field.
• Previous experience as an accountant, accounting supervisor, or manager.
• Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
