Job summary

Lume Search Partners is seeking a senior finance leader to run the Finance and Accounting function for a profitable cryptocurrency business, reporting to the CFO of a publicly traded fintech firm in NYC.

Ideal candidate brings deep senior-level experience in regulated money services, fintech platforms, crypto, or broker-dealers; oversees financial reporting, audits, internal controls, and regulatory filings; strong GAAP and asset custody knowledge.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or comparable field of study.
• Minimum of five years progressive accounting expertise or senior finance leadership within a regulated cryptocurrency or financial services company.
• Direct exposure to cryptocurrency, digital assets, fintech operations, payments, or banking.
• Track record of owning financial reporting processes for regulated organizations.
• Experience coordinating external financial statement audits and regulatory filings.
• Solid command of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting frameworks.
• Experience building and operating effective internal controls.
• Ability to guide finance during scaling periods and evolving regulatory landscapes.
• Background supporting licensed cryptocurrency exchanges or digital asset custody platforms.
• Knowledge of state-level Money Transmitter licensing frameworks

Responsibilities

• Lead the finance and accounting function for an existing and profitable cryptocurrency business.
• Oversee financial reporting, audits, and regulatory filings for a regulated crypto firm.
• Maintain strong internal controls and asset protection for customer funds.
• Partner with the CFO and other leaders to scale finance during growth and regulatory change.

Reporting to the CFO of a publicly traded financial technology firm in NYC. Will lead the finance and accounting function for an existing and profitable cryptocurrency business.

Responsibilities

• Ideal profile includes deep senior-level finance leadership experience inside regulated money services businesses, fintech platforms, crypto/digital asset firms, broker-dealers, payment companies, or traditional financial institutions
• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, or comparable field of study
• Minimum of five years progressive accounting expertise or comparable senior finance leadership tenure within a regulated cryptocurrency or financial services company
• Direct exposure to cryptocurrency, digital assets, fintech operations, payments, broker-dealer activity, or banking
• Track record of owning financial reporting processes for regulated organizations
• Hands-on experience compiling and submitting state money transmitter license call reports along with other required regulatory financial filings
• Prior responsibility for managing the annual external financial statement audit process
• Solid command of U.S. GAAP and applicable financial reporting frameworks
• Demonstrated success building and operating effective internal control environments
• Proven capacity to guide finance functions through scaling periods and evolving regulatory landscapes
• Background supporting licensed cryptocurrency exchanges or digital asset custody platforms
• Working knowledge of state-level Money Transmitter License frameworks
• Experience ensuring proper segregation and protection of customer assets
• Understanding of stablecoin structures, blockchain-based settlement mechanics, and digital asset accounting practices
