Job summary

Odin Labs, Inc. seeks an organized Controller to oversee daily accounting, ensure accuracy, and prepare for investor scrutiny. Reporting to Head of Operations, you will manage general ledger, revenue recognition, and month-end close in a fast-scaling company.

You will collaborate with leadership, implement financial software, and support budgeting, forecasting, and audits while coordinating with external firms and tax advisors.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance, including SaaS/tech
• CPA or equivalent strongly preferred
• Deep knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Experience with revenue recognition in recurring-revenue models
• Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite)
• Growth-stage or venture-backed company experience is a strong plus
• High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Controller to oversee the day-to-day accounting function, ensure financial accuracy, and prepare the company for investor scrutiny and audit-readiness. This is a foundational role in a fast-scaling company, reporting directly to the Head of Operations and working closely with leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Own all aspects of accounting operations, including general ledger, revenue recognition, accounts receivable/payable, and monthly close
• Maintain and improve internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures
• Manage preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and support readiness for audit or due diligence processes
• Coordinate with external accounting firms, tax advisors, and other financial vendors
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in collaboration with the Head of Operations
• Help implement and optimize financial software and systems as the company scales
• Assist in preparing materials for investors, board meetings, and future fundraising

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 7+ years of experience in accounting or finance, including at least 3 years in a SaaS or technology environment
• CPA or equivalent strongly preferred
• Deep knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Experience managing revenue recognition, preferably in a recurring-revenue business model
• Familiarity with accounting tools and ERP systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar)
• Prior experience in a growth-stage or venture-backed company is a strong plus
• High attention to detail, accountability, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
