Job summary

Atlas Search is seeking a Corporate Controller to lead the close, multi-entity accounting and financial reporting for a newly public digital infrastructure company that builds and operates data centers powering AI, high-performance computing, and blockchain networks. This role is based in Midtown Manhattan with five days in the office.

You will own intercompany activity, real estate and development accounting, and the design of internal controls, reporting to the CEO as the first US finance

Qualifications

• Experience leading corporate accounting operations.
• Experience managing multi-entity and intercompany accounting.
• Experience building an accounting/function from the ground up.
• Strong understanding of internal controls and policy documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead corporate accounting operations, including monthly close, GL, journal entries and reconciliations.
• Oversee accounting across multiple entities, including intercompany activity and consolidation.
• Manage and develop the accounting team in a cross-border context.
• Provide accurate, timely financial information to the CEO and management.
• Establish and strengthen accounting policies, documentation and internal controls.
• Support Brex implementation and integrate with accounting operations.
• Improve QuickBooks and supporting systems for accuracy and efficiency.
• Identify opportunities to automate routine tasks and apply AI thoughtfully.
• Support accounting needs arising from real estate development and data center operations.
• Coordinate with external accounting, audit and tax providers as needed.
• Help plan future staffing and scale the US finance function.

Job description

Corporate Controller search for a newly public digital infrastructure company that develops and operates data centers powering AI, high-performance computing, and blockchain networks. This is 5x a week in office in Midtown.

Based in their Midtown Manhattan office, this person will own the close, multi-entity and intercompany accounting, financial reporting, and the accounting behind the company’s real estate and data center development. Reporting directly to the CEO, you’d have a real mandate to build the function from the ground up.

This will be their first finance hire in the US - It’s a rare chance to shape the finance organization of a growing public company at the center of the AI infrastructure boom, with the opportunity to build out a US team as the business scales.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead corporate accounting operations, including the monthly close, general ledger, journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Oversee accounting across multiple entities, including intercompany activity and consolidated financial information.
• Manage and develop the accounting team in South Africa, establishing clear priorities, deadlines and review procedures.
• Provide accurate, timely financial information to the CEO and support management’s understanding of business performance.
• Establish and strengthen accounting policies, documentation and internal controls.
• Complete the ongoing implementation of Brex, including expense workflows, approval processes and integration with accounting operations.
• Improve the use of QuickBooks and supporting systems to increase accuracy, efficiency and visibility.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive accounting tasks and apply AI tools thoughtfully to daily workflows.
• Support accounting needs arising from data center operations, growth initiatives and real estate transactions.
• Coordinate with external accounting, audit and tax providers as needed.
• Help assess future staffing needs and develop the accounting function as the business expands.
