Job summary

RJ-Staffing is seeking a Controller for a well-established non-profit. The role reports to the CFO and leads the Finance Department to ensure accurate financial reporting and regulatory compliance.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in accounting/finance; CPA or a master’s degree is preferred, with 10–15 years of non-profit accounting experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required; CPA or master’s preferred.
• 10–15 years accounting non-profit business experience.
• Proficient in corporate accounting, financial reporting, GAAP.

Responsibilities

• Ensure legal and regulatory compliance for accounting and financial reporting functions.
• Oversee Finance Department and related functions (cost and general accounting).
• Manage accounts receivable/collections, payroll and risk management.

Overview: Well-established non-profit seeks Controller to join their growing team. The Controller reports directly to the CFO.

Responsibilities:

• The Controller is responsible for ensuring legal and regulatory compliance for all accounting and financial reporting functions in a professional and confidential manner.
• The Controller oversees the Finance Department and associated functions including but not limited to:
• Cost and general accounting
• Accounts receivable/collection
• Payroll and risk management.
• This position is a professional accounting position with responsibilities that are complex, confidential and essential to the financial integrity of the Agency.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA or master’s degree preferred
• 10-15 years accounting non-profit business experience
• Proficient in all aspects of corporate accounting, financial reporting and knowledgeable in GAAP, NY State and regulatory Agencies standards
• Knowledge and proficiency of financial systems
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and excellent analytical and organizational skills
