Peak to Creek Precision Staffing is assisting a growing product distribution and light-manufacturing client in seeking an accounting leader to manage day-to-day operations and financial reporting.

The Accounting Manager / Controller will oversee the accounting team, strengthen internal controls, and deliver accurate statements, cash flow analyses, and management reports. Candidates should have progressive accounting experience and strong teamwork across departments.

Qualifications

  • Five or more years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of AP, AR, general ledger, reconciliations, financial reporting, and month-end close.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel.
  • Inventory or cost accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls.
  • Previous leadership or team-management experience.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate across departments.
  • Bilingual English and Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
  • Lead monthly and year-end closing processes.
  • Prepare accurate financial statements, cash-flow reports, and management reporting.
  • Review journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Manage inventory accounting, product costs, freight, and inventory adjustments.
  • Analyze margins and identify opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow planning.
  • Monitor collections, vendor payments, and daily cash activity.
  • Maintain QuickBooks and improve accounting workflows.
  • Develop internal controls and ensure transactions are properly documented and approved.
  • Manage, mentor, and evaluate accounting team members.
  • Coordinate with external accounting and tax professionals.

Job description

Our client is a growing product distribution and light-manufacturing company seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager / Controller to lead its accounting operations and financial reporting.

This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional who can manage day-to-day processes, strengthen financial controls, and provide company leadership with accurate financial information. You will oversee the accounting team while remaining actively involved in the work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and bank reconciliations

  • Deliver reliable financial reporting, budgets, and cash-flow forecasts
  • Assess the accounting team and recommend improvements to responsibilities and structure

Qualifications
