Job summary

PhxPhxProConnect is seeking an experienced Controller with LIHTC development expertise to lead accounting operations in a dynamic real estate environment. The candidate will supervise staff, implement internal controls, and ensure GAAP-compliant financial reporting for LIHTC projects in development and execution phases.

The role requires deep LIHTC knowledge, facility with ERP systems and report automation, and a track record of timely, accurate year-end reporting and audits.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile Job Cost Accounting to Financial Statements.
• Coordinate and issue financial audits in accordance with GAAP.
• Oversee tax return issuance and related reporting deadlines.
• Ensure timely year-end financial reporting within the 45-day period.
• Understand construction draws and funding needs for real estate development.

Please read the Job Description - Specifically Looking for a self starter, experienced CONTROLLER WITH LOW INCOME HOUSING TAX CREDIT REAL PROPERTY DEVELOPMENT Experience REQUIRED. (LIHTC)

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Previous supervisory and management experience.
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Completion and implementation of internal controls.
• Thorough understanding of LIHTC industry and reporting
• Completion and issuance of state agency cost certifications
• 10% Test
• Reconciliation of Job Cost Accounting to the Financial Statements
• Issuance of financial audits in accordance with GAAP
• Coordination of issuance of tax returns.
• Timely reporting of financial statement reporting to meet the strict 45-day end of the year reporting period requirement.
• Thorough understanding of construction draws and funding requirements for real estate development.
• EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
• Degree In Accounting, Finance or related required.
• Master’s Degree (preferably MBA| master’s in Finance, Accounting, Business or related) and/or equivalent combination of experience and education preferred
• Big 4 or any public accounting experience preferred
• Low Income Housing Tax Credit Development experience required
• Experience with developing controls, procedures required.
• Experience with ERP implementation & report automation required.
