Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Oversee GL management, AP/AR, payroll coordination, and month-end close.
• Deliver US GAAP-compliant financials and ad hoc reports.
• Own annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
• Lead the annual audit process and maintain strong internal controls.
• Assist with multi-currency reporting and global entity consolidation.

Step into a US Controller role at a leading sports industry organization serving as third‑party administrator for anti‑doping programs for major clients including NFL, MLB, UFC, NCAA, and PGA, where you’ll oversee accounting operations and support strategic financial planning.

Strategic Impact: Direct line to the CFO with ownership over US accounting operations, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis that drives business decisions across day‑to‑day finance functions.

Cross‑Functional Exposure: True controller‑plus role combining traditional accounting operations with FP&A responsibilities including financial modeling, scenario planning, variance analysis, and international consolidation work.

Growth Opportunity: Lead and manage the finance function for a sports industry organization experiencing exponential growth - serving NFL, MLB, UFC, NCAA, and PGA clients while operating across 24 states and doubling staff in recent years.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee US accounting ops: Lead GL management, AP/AR, payroll coordination, and month‑end close.
• Drive financial reporting: Deliver timely, accurate US GAAP‑compliant financials and ad hoc reports.
• Support FP&A: Own annual budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and budget vs actual analysis.
• Manage audit and controls: Lead annual audit process and maintain strong internal controls.
• Provide international finance support: Assist with consolidation of global entities and multi‑currency reporting.

Qualifications

• Strong Technical Accounting Background: 6+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience including controllership and FP&A responsibilities, with strong technical expertise in US GAAP and general ledger management.
• Leadership and Team Management: 2+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience, capable of managing senior accounting managers and driving cross‑functional coordination.
• Systems and Process Experience: Advanced Excel proficiency and hands‑on experience with NetSuite or comparable ERP systems, with a focus on evaluating and optimizing financial systems for greater efficiency.
