Job summary

TheCorporate is seeking an experienced Controller to lead the Accounting function in the Hebron/Colchester, CT area. The role covers financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, costing, inventory, internal controls, audits, and analysis while partnering with Operations and Senior Leadership.

Responsibilities include managing the accounting team, overseeing GL/AP/AR/payroll, cash-flow planning, annual budgeting, and presenting KPIs to executives.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis skills.
  • Solid knowledge of internal controls and accounting processes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Experience with manufacturing ERP and accounting software.
  • Manufacturing costing and inventory experience.
  • Proven leadership, communication, and organizational abilities.
  • Independent, hands-on approach with high accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Accounting Department.
  • Oversee GL, AP, AR, Payroll, Purchasing, Inventory, COGS, CapEx, and Treasury.
  • Manage cash-flow reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting.
  • Prepare and present financial KPIs to Senior Leadership.
  • Analyze financial performance and explain variances.
  • Partner with Operations on performance metrics and improvements.
  • Support S&OP, P&L forecasting, and cash-flow planning.
  • Maintain costing records for products and customers.
  • Support Business Development and Engineering with quotes.
  • Identify and pursue cost-saving opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Coordinate annual financial statement audits.
  • Support tax compliance and government surveys.
  • Lead annual physical inventory of Raw Materials, FG, and WIP.

Job Summary

A growing aerospace manufacturing company in the Hebron/Colchester, CT area is seeking an experienced Controller to lead the Accounting function and support continued business growth. The Controller will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, costing, inventory, internal controls, audits, and financial analysis while partnering closely with Operations and Senior Leadership.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the Accounting Department.
  • Oversee General Ledger, AP, AR, Payroll, Purchasing, Inventory, Cost of Sales, CapEx, and Treasury.
  • Manage cash-flow reporting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Lead annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting.
  • Prepare and present financial KPIs to Senior Leadership.
  • Analyze financial performance and explain variances.
  • Partner with Operations to develop performance metrics and improvement initiatives.
  • Support S&OP, P&L forecasting, and cash-flow planning.
  • Maintain product and customer costing records.
  • Support Business Development and Engineering with new-business quotes.
  • Identify and manage cost-saving opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies and internal controls.
  • Coordinate annual financial statement audits.
  • Support corporate tax compliance and required government surveys.
  • Lead annual physical inventory of Raw Materials, Finished Goods, and WIP.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • 7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Strong financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis skills.
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls and accounting processes.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
  • Accounting software experience; manufacturing ERP experience strongly preferred.
  • Manufacturing costing and inventory experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently with a hands-on approach.
  • High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA or MBA
