Job summary

Mueller Copper Tube Company LLC.- Fulton, Mississippi, seeks a hands-on Controller to lead accounting, financial reporting and internal controls in a manufacturing setting. You will oversee billing, AR/AP, GL, inventory, close processes and audits, while building financial models to support strategic decisions.

The role requires strong US GAAP knowledge, CPA/CMA preferred, 5+ years in finance, ERP proficiency and excellent communication; you will partner with plant leadership to drive accuracy,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Accounting/Business Administration.
• CMA/CPA preferred but not required.
• 5+ years in accounting/finance, US GAAP expertise.
• Manufacturing accounting experience and ERP knowledge.
• Strong Excel and data analytics skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all accounting operations (Billing, A/R, A/P, G/L).
• Coordinate monthly close and variance analysis for management.
• Maintain internal controls and ensure GAAP compliance.
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial statements for plant.
• Support audits and external reporting; develop financial models.
• Analyze costs, inventories, and capital expenditures approvals.
• Collaborate with plant leadership on strategic initiatives.

Job Description

We are currently seeking a Controller to join our team and lead our accounting and financial reporting functions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting and Revenue Recognition
• Implement, document, and maintain adequate and effective internal controls
• Ensures proper accounting in accordance with U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
• Coordinate monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure complete and accurate accounting records are maintained
• Analyze variances and communicates explanations to management with recommended actions
• Review and approval of journal entries and account reconciliations
• Prepare budgets and forecasts of income statement, balance sheets, and statement of cash flows for the Plant
• Coordinate and support external and internal financial audits
• Complete other ad hoc reporting requirements and data analytics using query-based reporting
• Coordinate and reconcile physical inventory and maintain accuracy in transactions and records for all inventory and perform financial audit on annual basis
• Manage and obtain approval for all requests on capital expenditures and maintain controls on all plant processes within required budget and prepare reports to summarize all business activities
• Develop financial models and analyses to support strategic initiatives
• Assist Corporate Controller with Corporate accounting and reporting activities as requested.
• Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelors and/or Master’s Degree in Business Administration / Accounting.
• CMA and/or CPA preferred, but not required
• 5+ years’ experience in the accounting and finance sector.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP
• Understanding of accounting for a manufacturing company is required (Bills of Material, manufacturing processes)
• Solid understanding of ERP systems
• Public Accounting experience a plus
• High proficiency in data warehouse and query tools with advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Must have excellent communication skills both internally and externally
• Ability to problem solve and think strategically
• Must be able to handle multiple concurrent tasks and meet strict deadlines
