Job summary

CFS in Fort Lauderdale, FL is seeking a hands-on Controller to lead accounting and finance for a well‑established Florida law firm. You will oversee a two-person team and manage day‑to‑day financial operations, including payroll, intercompany accounting, and cash flow monitoring.

The role reports to the Managing Partner and requires a senior, detail‑oriented leader with strong Excel skills and law‑firm or professional services experience. Onsite, full benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 3+ years of Controller‑level experience (ideally $5–20M revenue).
• Law firm or professional services experience (ideally with billable hours).
• Experience with Juris highly preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Hands‑on, detail‑oriented leadership style.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly close and financial statement preparation.
• Oversee daily/monthly reporting and cash flow monitoring.
• Manage in‑house payroll and intercompany accounting.

Salary $130,000 - $170,000

A well‑established Florida law firm with a 40+ year history is seeking a hands‑on Controller to lead its accounting and finance operations. The firm employs 50+ professionals (including 20+ attorneys), operates from three Florida offices, and is known for its collegial, family‑office culture and long employee tenure. Clients include public and private companies, including Fortune 500 organizations.

The Role

This is a key leadership position reporting directly to the Managing Partner. The incoming Controller will oversee a team of two and manage all day‑to‑day financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead monthly close and financial statement preparation
• Oversee daily/monthly reporting and cash flow monitoring
• Manage in‑house payroll and intercompany accounting
