Job summary

GHJ, a prominent national accounting and advisory firm, is seeking a Controller to lead its accounting operations for a multi-location heavy equipment organization. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will oversee GAAP-based financial reporting, accounts payable and receivable, general ledger, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and internal controls, while mentoring the accounting team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting or financial management experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls.
• Experience in equipment dealerships, construction, or a related capital equipment industry preferred.
• Experience with ERP or dealership management systems preferred.
• Strong Excel, financial analysis, and reporting skills.
• CPA or CMA preferred.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced, multi-location environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations across AP, AR, and general ledger functions
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting in accordance with GAAP
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and variance analysis
• Monitor financial performance and KPIs and provide actionable insights to leadership
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures
• Coordinate annual audits and oversee tax compliance activities
• Manage reconciliations across multiple dealership locations and accounts
• Partner with senior management on strategic planning, investment analysis, and cost-saving initiatives
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members

A growing, multi-location heavy equipment organization is seeking an experienced Controller to lead its accounting operations and financial reporting function. Reporting to the CFO, the Controller will oversee accounting operations across multiple locations, including financial reporting, AP, AR, general ledger, budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and internal controls. The role also leads the accounting team and provides financial analysis and strategic guidance to senior leadership.
