Job summary

GHJ is seeking an experienced Interim Controller to join our Dalton, GA team. This role requires stepping in to lead day-to-day accounting operations, close the books, and deliver reliable financial insight for leadership.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in progressively responsible accounting roles, strong ERP and Excel skills, and the ability to manage budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls on-site.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience in leading an accounting team and providing financial insights.
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, GL, and month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger accounting and month-end close.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis.
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Support audits and compliance requirements.
• Partner with leadership to provide financial insights and support business decisions.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial systems and accounting processes.
• Guide and support the accounting team.

The Interim Controller will oversee day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and internal controls. This role requires someone comfortable rolling up their sleeves, leading an accounting team, and making an immediate impact in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee general ledger accounting and month-end close
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processes

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Previous Controller, Accounting Manager, or similar senior accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and month-end close
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
• Strong accounting/ERP systems and Excel skills
• Manufacturing, printing, or related industry experience preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred; CPA a plus
• Ability to work fully on-site in Dalton, GA
