Key Responsibilities/Essential Job Functions
  • Ensures maintenance of complete and accurate books and records of the company and all client companies.
  • Ensures that required daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual and ad-hoc financial reports, pro formas, and analyses are complete, accurate and timely. Responsible for the quality of all reports prepared by the Finance and Accounting department, and frequent participation in Board and Management meetings.
  • Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, maintaining and enforcing internal controls.
  • Designs and directs operational audits.
  • Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, enforcing and maintaining policies and procedures.
  • Ensures corporate separateness between the company and all client companies.
  • Manages the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of the budgeting process.
  • Manages cash for the company and all client companies.
  • Coordinates service plans with independent accountants including year-end process to generate annual financial statements. Coordinates with independent accountants to ensure that all corporate tax returns are prepared timely and filed.
  • Provides leadership, direct supervision, training and development of staff and ensures efficient and effective use of staff.
  • Promotes organizational development by delivering performance evaluations and coaching personnel.
  • Identifies and implements cost control measures.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with all key stakeholders.
  • Contributes to business planning process, supports special projects and accepts other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • Defines departmental policies, procedures and systems.
  • Ensures cost and budget management/control within the functional area.
  • Identifies and implements cost control measures that do not compromise compliance.
  • Maintains accurate fixed asset records and high-quality project and cost accounting processes.
  • Uses advanced PC and business computer applications, telephone conferencing and e-mail daily.
  • Understands RES’ ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS) and assists with executing its objectives.
  • Assists CFO in Cash Management
  • Performs other job-related duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. MBA and/or CPA is desired.
  • Eight or more years professional accounting/finance experience, of which at least five years must have been spent in a managerial role.
  • Experience in a privately held corporate environment strongly preferred.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) required. Experience and understanding of taxation principles is a plus.
  • Must possess excellent analytical, quantitative, project management and problem-solving skills, as well as an in-depth knowledge and demonstrated ability to use automated accounting systems and standard PC-based accounting/spreadsheet applications (Excel, AX, Atlas, Budget Maestro desired).
  • Must be able to analyze data, draw conclusions and recommend actions using sound judgment. Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Must possess a strong work ethic and commitment to quality. Must have extremely high standards of personal and team performance, and must be willing to devote and demand the hours and effort required to meet or exceed those standards.
  • Must have an inquisitive, investigative mindset, and be willing and able to "dig deeper" rather than accept information at face value. Aggressively probes for underlying facts and issues without alienating coworkers, suppliers, customers, etc.
  • Must have an amiable, confident, customer service-oriented personality. Must be entirely unpretentious and very "hands on".
  • Must possess unquestioned personal integrity and reliability. Keeps commitments, admits mistakes, and accepts responsibility for all departmental output and results, and acts in the best interest of the company's stakeholders at all times.
  • Must possess excellent communication, organization, interpersonal and presentation skills. Must be able to effectively and persuasively communicate and present information and respond to questions from employees, customers, suppliers, lenders, Management Team, Ownership and/or Board Members.
  • Must have an interpersonal style which promotes a team based environment. Will possess and will inspire others to adopt a strong sense of urgency to complete tasks and projects on time and on budget.
