Job summary

Pacific Steel, based in Montana, seeks an experienced Finance Manager to support the CFO with financial analyses of operations and asset purchases, including interim and final statements, plus reports for management guidance. You will supervise general accounting, fixed assets, internal controls, and treasury management across the company.

You will lead the accounting staff, coordinate audits, ensure GAAP-compliant reporting, and provide senior financial analysis for management and board

Qualifications

  • 10 years' experience in all aspects of accounting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
  • CMA/CPA or Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Strong accounting, computer software, and tax knowledge.
  • Hands-on management experience, excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills are a must.

Responsibilities

  • Direct accounting department and branch accounting functions in preparation of all financial reports following generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Responsible for all income, property, and sales tax reporting and accounting.
  • Lead the month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Assist CFO with all financial reports/presentations for manager meetings, board meetings, outside meetings, etc. as requested.
  • Prepare quarterly/monthly/yearly census filings.
  • Prepare/assist with tax related forms (i.e. Transfer Pricing, quarterly returns, excise tax return, etc.).
  • Work closely with outside auditors to provide all requested information/reports for year-end audit.
  • Establish and maintain systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, and enhance the Company's value.
  • Responsible for treasury management functions.
  • Lead, coordinate, and conduct regular internal audits at branch locations.
  • Responsible for investment account reconciliations.
  • Assist in analysis of ongoing financial performance of the Company.
  • In coordination with the CFO, responsible for branch financial statement analysis on a monthly basis.
  • Provide training and development to accounting staff.
  • Provide opportunities for growth and development of accounting staff through internal and external training focused on functional knowledge and computer skills.
  • Organize accounting staff to achieve the best efficiency and effectiveness utilizing each individual's strengths and helping them to improve where necessary.
  • Lead corporate effort in developing branch staff to be as knowledgeable and efficient in utilizing accounting and computer best practices to meet the Company's accounting requirements.
  • Supervise the accounting staff.

Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position will assist the CFO with the preparation of financial analyses of operations, assets purchases, including interim and final financial statements along with other appropriate reports for the guidance of management. This position involves supervision over general accounting, fixed assets, and internal controls. This position will also be responsible for all treasury management for the company.



REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

The incumbent is generally expected to perform work assignments under limited supervision, exercising latitude in determining objectives of assignment; schedules and arranges own activities and others in accomplishing objectives. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer.



KEY RESULTS:


  1. Insure that internal and external accounting and reporting are done accurately, timely, efficiently and within appropriate financial guidelines.
