Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior accounting leader in New Jersey to oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, close processes, financial reporting, and audit coordination. You will partner with the CFO and executive team to deliver financial analysis, strengthen internal controls, support budgeting and forecasting, and guide scalable processes for a rapidly growing company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Strong experience in general ledger, financial reporting, and audit management.
• Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint strongly preferred.
• CPA preferred; prior Controller or senior accounting leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations including general ledger, payroll, reporting, and audit coordination.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes with timely reporting.
• Oversee preparation and review of financial statements per standards and policies.
• Develop and maintain strong internal controls and procedures.
• Partner with CFO to provide financial analysis and insights.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and strategic planning.
• Coordinate external audits and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Drive process improvements and system optimization for growth.
• Maintain integrity of financial data in Deltek Vantagepoint.
• Build a high-performing accounting organization for future growth.

Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, financial reporting, and audit coordination.
• Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Oversee the preparation and review of financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
• Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures.
• Partner closely with the CFO and operational leadership to provide financial analysis and business insights.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and strategic planning initiatives.
• Coordinate and manage external audits and ensure compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements.
• Drive process improvements and system optimization to support rapid business growth.
• Maintain the integrity of financial data within Deltek Vantagepoint (VP) and related financial systems.
• Build and develop a high-performing accounting organization capable of supporting future growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Strong experience in general ledger accounting, financial reporting, and audit management.
• Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint strongly preferred.
• Industry-specific experience is preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated ability to build scalable accounting processes within a growing organization.
• Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
• CPA preferred.
• Prior Controller, Assistant Controller, or senior accounting leadership experience preferred.
• Experience leading accounting teams and developing staff.
