Job summary

SNI Financial is assisting a privately held commercial real estate investment and property management firm in Denton in their search for an experienced Controller to join the leadership team. You will oversee and develop the accounting group while remaining actively involved in accounting, close processes, and financial reporting.

Reporting to the CFO, the role is hands-on and entrepreneurial, with exposure to multiple entities, operating companies, and development activity, plus a potential

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Prior supervisory or accounting management experience.
• Commercial real estate accounting experience is a key priority.
• Strong GL, month-end close, reconciliation, and financial reporting experience.
• Experience working across multiple entities and operating companies.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CPA preferred, but not required
• Strong Excel and QuickBooks experience
• Yardi Breeze or similar real estate accounting software is a plus
• A genuine hands-on mentality and willingness to work in the details

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle accounting and monthly close across multiple entities
• Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting
• Manage commercial real estate and property-level accounting
• Handle multi-entity and intercompany accounting
• Oversee GL activity and balance sheet reconciliations
• Support payroll, AP/AR, and cash management
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
• Coordinate tax, audit, lender, and ownership reporting
• Supervise and develop accounting staff
• Improve accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls
• Work closely with the CFO and senior leadership across the organization

I’m partnering with a privately held commercial real estate investment and property management firm in Denton that is looking to add an experienced Controller to its leadership team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on, entrepreneurial environment and wants broad exposure across commercial real estate, investment entities, development activities, and operating companies.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a true player/coach role. You’ll oversee and develop the accounting team while remaining actively involved in the accounting, close, and financial reporting process.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Oversee full-cycle accounting and monthly close across multiple entities

Compensation & Culture

The company is targeting $130K–$150K in total compensation, depending on experience, with flexibility in how the package is structured.
