Job summary

Ascendo Resources in Broward County seeks a Construction General Contractor (GC) Controller to oversee all accounting, job-cost tracking, financial reporting and cash flow for building projects. Lead a small team of Accountants, AP/AR, and admins in a well-established firm.

Responsibilities include monitoring budgets, managing change orders and subcontractor billings, producing WIP and month-end statements, and ensuring compliance with tax, union reporting, and percentage-of-completion

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of accounting experience in general contracting or construction.
• Proficiency in construction ERP systems (Sage 300, Vista/Viewpoint, Procore) and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

• Track project budgets and review subcontractor billings.

Key Responsibilities

• Job Costing: Track project budgets, review subcontractor billings, and manage change orders.
• Financial Reporting: Produce Work-In-Progress (WIP) reports and month-end financial statements.
• Cash Flow Management: Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and project funding.
• Compliance: Ensure adherence to tax laws, union reporting, and percentage-of-completion accounting standards.
• Team Leadership: Supervise internal accounting staff and assist project managers with financial reviews.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: 5+ years of accounting experience specifically within general contracting or construction.
• Software Skills: High proficiency in construction ERP systems (such as Sage 300, Vista by Viewpoint, or Procore) and advanced Excel.
• Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) preferred
