Job summary

AgReserves, Inc. is seeking an experienced Controller to lead our California finance team. The Controller III will oversee accounting operations, ensure GAAP-compliant financial reporting, and partner with operational leaders to drive financial accountability.

Responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, monthly reporting, internal controls, and coordinating audits. The role requires 8+ years in accounting with leadership, CPA/CMA, and travel between office sites.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline; CPA or CMA required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience with leadership responsibility.
  • Public accounting (audit) experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit practices.
  • Experience leading accounting operations, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting functions.
  • Strong proficiency with ERP systems and financial reporting tools; Infor/Lawson preferred.
  • Travel required between office and operational locations.
  • Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills are a plus.

  • Partner with business leaders to evaluate financial performance, identify risks and opportunities, and support decision-making.
  • Own the accounting policies, procedures, and internal control environment to ensure GAAP compliance.
  • Coordinate and lead external and internal audit activities, ensuring timely resolution of findings.
  • Lead initiatives on standardization, process improvement, automation, and efficiency.
  • Monitor working capital, cash flow, and key financial metrics.
  • Manage, coach, and develop accounting personnel with cross-training and succession readiness.
  • Support business transactions, acquisitions, system implementations, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Deseret Farms of California is seeking an experienced Controller to join our local finance team!

Summary:

The Controller III is responsible for leading the organization's accounting function and ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance with U.S. GAAP. This role oversees accounting operations, budgeting, forecasting, audit coordination, and financial performance reporting. The Controller III partners closely with operational leadership to support decision-making, improve business processes, and drive financial accountability across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Travel required between office and operational locations.
  • Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills are a plus.
