Job Details: Level: Experienced, Job Location: DAA Chatt - CHATTANOOGA, TN, Position Type: Full Time, Education Level: 4 Year Degree, Salary Range: $90000.00, Travel Percentage: None, Job Shift: Day, Job Category: Accounting, The Controller supports accurate financial reporting, transaction processing, controls and business decision-making for dealership, auction and shared-service operations. The position is expected to support the company standard of professional, responsive service and to contribute to accurate, safe and efficient operations across the locations or customers it serves.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead assigned team(s), establish performance expectations, coach employees and address staffing, training and accountability needs.
  • Manage department operating results, budgets/KPIs and workflow; investigate variances and implement practical corrective actions.
  • Standardize processes where appropriate while maintaining responsiveness to local dealership/auction operating needs.
  • Maintain accurate, timely records and reconciliations in the applicable dealership/auction accounting, DMS, ERP or financial systems.
  • Research exceptions, aging items, variances and unsupported transactions; obtain documentation and drive resolution to completion.
  • Protect company assets through segregation of duties, approval controls, audit-ready support and appropriate handling of confidential financial information.
  • Coordinate with operating leaders on deal, inventory, receivable/payable, cash, incentive or reporting issues that affect financial accuracy.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • Experience supporting operationally complex businesses required; automotive retail/auction experience is a plus.
  • Strong spreadsheet and systems proficiency; ability to reconcile data, identify exceptions and maintain accurate supporting documentation.
  • Strong communication, judgment, follow-through and customer-service skills; able to manage competing priorities with limited supervision appropriate to the role.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Work is primarily office/computer based, with periodic time in dealership, auction, shop, lot or warehouse environments depending on business needs.

  • Schedule may include early mornings, evenings, sale days, month-end or weekends based on dealership/auction operating needs and position responsibilities.
