You will oversee A/R, A/P, G/L, inventory, budgeting, and audits, partnering with management to drive profitability and financial integrity across manufacturing processes.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of accounting experience and 5+ years as Controller or equivalent.
  • Prefer manufacturing background, low-volume/high-mix environments.
  • Strong costing, inventory accounting and standard costing knowledge.
  • Proficient in GAAP and financial reporting standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee A/R, A/P, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting and Revenue Recognition.
  • Manage monthly close with analytical review of operating results.
  • Refine standard cost system; analyze material/labor costs and variances.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy; coordinate cycle counts and WIP reserves.
  • Manage capital projects and cash flow forecasting.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Support external audits and coordinate tax filings.

Controller

Salary Range: $140,419.00 To $185,704.00 Annually

ABBA Roller, located in Ontario, California, is seeking a Controller who is responsible for managing the financial analysis and accounting operations, including processing of financial transactions, production of periodic financial reports, and maintenance of accounting records. The Controller is responsible for a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the company’s reported financial results, and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles. Prepares financial results for reporting to Management. The Controller reports directly to the Vice President & General Manager.

ABBA Roller is a leading provider of critical-to-function, high-precision rubber and chrome rollers, including newly manufactured and reconditioned rollers, serving customers in printed circuit boards, coating and laminating, food and agriculture, converting, solar energy, battery calendaring, robotics, and other high-precision industrial markets.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage accounting operations including A/R, A/P, G/L, Inventory/Cost Accounting and Revenue Recognition to ensure all financial and accounting transactions are processed to established standards and completed within targeted deadlines.
  • With support of the accounting shared service, oversee monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records.
  • Refine, maintain and develop recommendation to management to ensure the integrity of operating standard cost system by performing a range of costing analysis and reporting including but not limited to: material costs and labor/overhead rates, standard costs versus actual manufacturing costs, cost of sales, cost trends and drivers for cost fluctuations providing management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting cost and profitability of products or services, purchase price variance (PPV) and manufacturing variances, develop and monitor labor efficiency dashboards by value stream, excess and obsolete inventory, rates of scrap, return, manufacturing expenses, depreciation by analysis of profit and loss statements and manufacturing variance reports, develop income statement by value stream.
  • Ensure the accuracy of inventory through coordination of regular cycle counts, annual physical, periodic review of work-in-progress (WIP) and regular analysis of required reserves.
  • Manage capital projects and forecast cash flow impact.
  • Assist in the preparation and review annual operating budget and periodic forecasts including income statement, balance sheets, and statement of cash flows.
  • Prepare and review a full set of financial statements and make recommendations to improve business operations based on thorough analysis.
  • Support annual external audit.
  • Coordinate required tax filings and statutory reporting with internal and external advisors.
  • Review accruals and provisions on a periodic basis.
  • Lead auxiliary and subsidiary accounts reconciliation.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide interpretation of reports and analysis findings.
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Accounting. Master’s degree or CPA preferred.
Experience
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in accounting.
  • Minimum 5 years as a Controller or equivalent, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Experience in precision manufacturing, engineered industrial products, elastomers, rubber, polyurethane, or similar low-volume/high-mix environments preferred.
  • Experience with custom manufacturing, job costing, standard costing, and inventory accounting is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, automated accounting/financial reporting systems and ERP.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial accounting and regulatory standards, including GAAP.
  • Strong understanding of economic and banking processes.
  • Demonstrated accomplishments of improving efficiencies and reducing costs across the business by processes optimization, developing standards and establishing internal controls.
