Location: Carlsbad, CA (mostly onsite)

Overview

We are partnering with a rapidly growing private medical device company to identify a Corporate Controller who will play a critical role in strengthening accounting operations, building scalable processes, and supporting the company through its next phase of growth. This is a high-impact leadership role with strong visibility and ownership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead all accounting operations, including monthly close, reporting, and technical accounting matters
• Strengthen internal controls, documentation, and audit readiness
• Drive SOX compliance and support external audits
• Partner with leadership on financial reporting, analysis, and operational insights
• Manage and develop a lean, high-performing accounting team
• Work closely with cross-functional partners and international stakeholders
• Identify and implement process improvements across accounting and reporting

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA required
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with senior-level responsibility
• Strong technical accounting and controls background
• Experience supporting audit readiness and complex reporting requirements
• Excellent communication and analytical skills
• Intellectual curiosity and ability to operate in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Public Accounting background (Big 4 strongly preferred)
• Medical device, biotech, or life sciences experience
• Experience supporting high-growth or transformational environments
• International accounting or global operations exposure
• Experience improving or scaling accounting processes
