The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in manufacturing finance, CPA/CMA preferred, and a strong track record in budgeting, forecasting, and cost accounting. On-site leadership and cross-functional collaboration are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• Minimum 5 years progressive accounting/finance management experience in manufacturing.
• CPA, CMA or equivalent designation preferred.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial analysis skills.
• Experience with cost accounting, inventory valuation, margin analysis, pricing, and product profitability in manufacturing.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
• Experience preparing and analyzing financial statements and KPIs.
• Knowledge of tax regulations and regulatory compliance.
• Cash flow management and working capital experience.
• Proficiency in Excel and financial software systems.

Responsibilities

E & H Tubing, Inc. is seeking a Controller to join their team in Brownstown, Indiana. As a premier family-owned tube mill specializing in high-carbon mechanical steel tubing, E & H Tubing is looking for an experienced financial professional who will serve as a trusted business partner, helping drive financial performance, support operational excellence, and contribute to the company's long-term success.

The Controller is responsible for managing all accounting and financial functions of the organization, including financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and regulatory compliance. Beyond traditional accounting responsibilities, the Controller serves as a key business partner to operational leadership, providing financial insights, participating in strategic decision-making, and helping drive operational performance across the organization. This role requires a proactive on-site leader who can balance strategic thinking with day-to-day financial management in a manufacturing environment.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage all accounting and financial operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and month-end/year-end close processes.
• Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, management reports, and analyses to support business decisions.
• Develop and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and long-range financial planning processes.
• Monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to ensure the financial health of the organization.
• Provide financial insight and recommendations to ownership and management regarding profitability, cost control, capital investments, and operational performance.
• Partner with production and operational leaders to analyze manufacturing costs, inventory, margins, pricing methodologies, and process efficiencies, identifying opportunities to improve profitability and operational performance.
• Establish and maintain strong internal controls and accounting procedures that protect company assets and ensure financial accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, tax requirements, and reporting obligations.
• Coordinate relationships with external auditors, financial institutions, insurance providers, and other professional advisors.
• Analyze key performance indicators and provide actionable recommendations to improve financial and operational results.
• Support strategic initiatives, growth opportunities, and continuous improvement efforts throughout the organization.
• Participate as an active member of the management team, contributing to company strategy, operational planning, and long-term business success.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting or finance management experience, preferably within manufacturing.
• CPA, CMA, or equivalent professional designation is preferred.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Experience with cost accounting methodologies, standard costing, inventory valuation, margin analysis, pricing structures, and product profitability within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated experience in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning.
• Experience preparing and analyzing financial statements, management reports, and key performance metrics.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations, reporting requirements, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience managing cash flow, working capital, credit, and collections.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial/accounting software systems.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with ownership, leadership, employees, customers, and external partners.
