Job summary

Talently is seeking a Controller for our Bluffton, SC area, overseeing a multi‑entity accounting function within a large-scale residential and recreational development. You will lead the monthly close, consolidate reports, and ensure GAAP compliance across the organization.

The role requires 8+ years in accounting, with a strong real estate development background and a CPA strongly preferred. Collaboration with development and operations teams is a key aspect of this position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong background in land or real estate development accounting.
• Experience managing multi-entity accounting environments.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Manage multi-entity accounting, consolidations, and intercompany transactions.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities.
• Partner with operational leaders across development, construction, real-estate sales, and marketing.
• Coordinate annual audits and tax compliance activities.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls and accounting processes.
• Assist with system improvements and reporting enhancements.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company accounting policies.
