Job summary

Hargrove Engineers + Constructors in Port Arthur, TX, is seeking a Planner to organize and monitor heavy industrial project planning and scheduling. You will work with multi-functional teams to ensure timely execution and accurate cost tracking.

The role requires 5+ years, familiarity with P&ID, valve specs, QA/QC of work packages, and experience with SAP, Primavera P6, and Cleopatra; relocation or travel to sites may be required.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret P&ID diagrams, valve specs, and location plans.
• Prepare and review test/work packages for field issuance.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, SAP, Primavera P6, Cleopatra.
• Experience with control valve surveys and BOM reading.

What You'll Be DoingJob Scope: The Planner is generally responsible for planning and scheduling heavy industrial engineering projects, monitoring project costs and/or estimating projects. Work will be performed under minimal supervision in the Port Arthur area.Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Proven ability to effectively interact with multi-functional areas (Planning, Scheduling, Engineering, Logistics, Purchasing, Finance, Quality, etc.)Understands control valve construction and workflow processes.Ability to accurately perform other duties as assigned.Understands quality standards as outlined by site.Ideal BackgroundEducation: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.Certification: AACE International or Project Management Institute (PMI) certification is preferred.Experience: 5+ yearsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:Ability to read and interpret P&ID’s, valve specs, and location plansExperience in preparing and reviewing test /work packages for issuance to the fieldProficient in the use of computers and business software, including Microsoft (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook) OneNote, SAP, Primavera P6.Control Valve Tech maintenance experience or CV maintenance planningAbility to QA/QC work packages after work completion.Ability to understand Preventive Maintenance programs and how to translate that to work packages.Assists with the development of the control valve work scope.Identify, scope, and produce construction work packages for execution.Ability to read BOM and identify parts need for valve overhaulsPerform and lead field walks for site verification to complete control valve surveys.Provide leadership in risk management, contractor safety, and mitigating safety issues in operationsOrganizing materials through expediting, quoting prices, and ensuring the correct parts are available for jobsCreate detailed planning activities in Cleopatra for each work order utilizing planning templates as applicable. Activities include individual tasks, manpower, durations, and assigned discipline.Provide daily schedule updates during outage execution.Create job planning packages for each work order per site guidelines for both internal and external distribution, e.g. bid events, contractor field personnel, etc.Support Management of Change process, recognizing plant changes and following through on all documentation and recommendations in a timely manner.Ability to effectively communicate scope, revisions, and activity breakdowns to other groups.Uphold and communicate high standards of housekeeping in assigned areas and on all job sites.Complete close out and documentation as required by standards and procedures.Physical Requirements:Ability to sit, stand or walk for long periods of time.Travel to other sites when needed.Ability to work from home (WFH) or remote.Hargrove CultureWe work to create an environment founded on trust, personal integrity, and a “team mentality” so that each person understands the value of their contributions both on a project and company-wide level.
