American Electric Power (AEP) in Kentucky is seeking an experienced technician to assist with electrical and control systems work, including analysis, repair, and testing of single loop control systems, meters and regulators. Travel up to 30% to various facilities is required, with emphasis on safe, standards-compliant operations.
You will help locate and repair defects, perform preventive maintenance on motors, batteries, and related equipment, and compile data for reports and procedures.
Assist with technical and specialized work of a skilled nature in connection with electrical and control systems; analysis, detection and repair of single loop control systems , electronic devices, communication systems, and instruments such as meters, gauges and regulators; assist others in making tests, surveys and layout work and the development of reports documenting results.
Note: This job is with a Reginal Service Organization (RSO). Travel may be required up to 30%.
Homebase at Amos Plant but will require travel to other facilities as schedule dictates.
Compensation Grade: U054-520
Compensation Range: $32.49 - $34.77
The Physical Demand Level for this job is: M - Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
