Are you skilled in troubleshooting and maintaining automated systems? ABB is seeking an experienced Automation Controls Technician to join our team. This role involves hands-on work with a variety of industrial control systems, ensuring that automation processes operate smoothly and efficiently. You'll play a key role in supporting production, performing maintenance, and optimizing automated equipment across diverse industries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems to ensure optimal functionality.
  • Work with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) to monitor and adjust automation processes.
  • Conduct routine and preventive maintenance on control systems to minimize downtime and improve system reliability.
  • Assist in the setup and commissioning of new automated systems, ensuring proper configuration and integration.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic control issues.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize system performance and address any technical challenges.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, troubleshooting activities, and maintenance procedures.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Associate degree or equivalent experience in Automation Technology, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience with PLC programming, VFDs, and automation systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical troubleshooting, industrial maintenance, and control systems.
  • Hands-on experience with industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Ethernet/IP).
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a proactive approach.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, with effective communication skills.
