Job summary

IU Health University Hospital in Indianapolis is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to operate and maintain building automation systems, perform preventative maintenance, and develop programs to enhance system performance.

The role requires knowledge of electrical, plumbing, fire protection, energy management, and building management software, reading blueprints, and compliance with OSHA and Joint Commission codes, with at least 2 years' relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Requires a High School Diploma or GED.
• Expertise in electrical, plumbing, pressurization, and fire protection devices.
• Knowledge of energy management, pneumatic transport, and building management systems software.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams.
• Familiar with OSHA and Joint Commission codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

Position Details:

Status: Full-Time, 40 hours per week.

Location: IU Health University Hospital

Department: Facilities and Maintenance

Schedule: 3-12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM, including additional 4-hour shift to reach 40 hours per week. 1 holiday per year required.

Position Summary:

Operates and performs preventative maintenance tasks on various building automation systems. Develops programs that will enhance building automation systems. Troubleshoots controls, field sensing devices, Direct Digital Control controllers and Field Processing Unit panels. Provides support in the field when assistance is needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Position Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Requires expertise in specialized areas such as electrical systems, plumbing systems, pressurization systems and fire protection devices.
• Requires general knowledge of fire protection and security systems in a health care or institutional setting.
• Requires general knowledge of energy management and pneumatic transport systems.
• Requires general knowledge of computerized building management systems software.
• Requires ability to read and interpret information from blueprints, schematics and diagrams.
• Requires current knowledge of various federal; state; local; OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) and Joint Commission codes and regulations.
• Requires a minimum of 2 years relevant experience.
