Job summary

GrayMatter is seeking a Control Systems Technician to support startup and commissioning on data center projects. You will handle field-level controls work across L2–L5, including P2P checkout, network startup, instrumentation calibration, SCADA integration, and PLC programming.

This role is highly mobile and onsite-focused, requiring extensive travel and collaboration with engineering and field teams to ensure integrated and validated building systems.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Controls Systems Technology or equivalent preferred.
• 1+ years in controls and commissioning environments.
• Proficiency in English (read, write, speak).
• Hands-on PLC and SCADA experience preferred.
• Willingness to travel extensively (approx. 90%).

Responsibilities

• Lead or support P2P checkout, functional testing, and system validation.
• Validate data accuracy, alarms, trends, and responses.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, and controls teams.
• Configure databases, graphics, and alarming strategies.
• Document commissioning procedures and test scripts.
