Job summary

LyondellBasell is seeking a Control System Specialist to ensure reliable operation and compliance of SIS, DCS, and PLC infrastructures across multiple process units. You will act as the primary technical liaison, perform advanced diagnostics, and implement changes within the MOC process.

Training and collaboration with instrument techs and operations are required. Responsibilities include FAT/SAT support, safe system upgrades, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum 6 years in control systems support or I&E technician roles.
• Knowledge of SIS, DCS, PLC, and instrumentation.
• Capable of routine maintenance and diagnostics on live systems.
• Experience with configuration and programming in DeltaV or TPS/Experion.

Responsibilities

• Act as primary technical liaison for Operations on control system performance and issues.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting for SIS/DCS/PLC hardware, software, and network faults.
• Design, implement, and document logic and HMI changes per MOC.
• Lead FAT and SAT, commissioning, and startup activities for control systems.
• Review control system scope and align with project objectives, timelines and budgets.
• Develop long-range reliability plans including obsolescence mitigation.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on SIS, DCS, PLC hardware.
• Deliver training on control system operation, SIS HMI, and proof testing.
