Title: Control Systems & Software Engineer

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Rate: $60 to $70/hr on W2

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand customer requirements, define system-level and component-specific requirements, and ensure system compliance through testing and documentation.
  • Perform integration and system-level testing across various platforms, ensuring alignment with ARP4754A and airworthiness standards.
  • Create and validate software requirements, implement designs, code, and test within simulation and integrated systems.
  • Support software-hardware integration and comprehensive test suites, maintaining compliance with DO-178C and airworthiness standards.
  • Develop safety-critical engine control systems and software to meet industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Define high-quality system and software requirements.
  • Design, implement, and test software components ensuring compliance with project needs.
  • Enhance development processes for better compliance and efficiency.
  • Implement CI/CD frameworks to support iterative development and testing.
  • Engage with certification authorities to present compliance data and address findings.
Qualifications

Basic:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Software, or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with 2–10 years of relevant experience.
  • Master’s degree with related experience or JD/PhD.

Preferred:

  • 5–15 years’ experience in embedded, safety-critical systems or software.
  • Experience in safety-critical control system design.
  • Familiarity with model-based design tools (e.g., Cameo, Matlab/Simulink).
  • Experience with military and FAA certification processes.
  • Hands-on experience with integration and system testing across platforms.
  • Knowledge of full lifecycle development from requirements to release.
  • Familiarity with gas turbine engine control systems.
  • Programming skills in ADA, Python, C, C++.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins.
