Job summary

RoviSys is seeking a Control Systems Engineer in Thousand Oaks, CA to define functional requirements, design, configure, commission and qualify Rockwell/FTBatch control systems. You will mentor junior engineers and lead teams to deliver state-of-the-art control solutions for process manufacturing clients.

The role involves developing lifecycle documents, wiring drawings per GMP standards, and on-site testing and commissioning, with occasional travel to client sites.

Qualifications

• 2-7 years of experience in automation.
• Platforms: Rockwell PLCs, PlantPAx, FTBatch
• Thorough understanding of control system design and coding
• Self-motivated, excellent communication skills, and enjoy working with people
• B.S. in Electrical, Computer, or Chemical Engineering or Engineering Technology
• Hands-on experience with current FactoryTalk Batch
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without RoviSys sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Work in team environment with engineers and designers to provide state of the art Control Systems.
• Develop Life Cycle documents, Control Panel, Network Architecture and wiring drawings per GMP standards.
• Redline P&ID drawings.
• Define and implement distributed control system (DCS) configurations.
• Testing and on-site commissioning and qualification of control systems.
• Lead teams of engineers and technicians to provide control system solutions.
• Mentor less experienced engineers.
• Develop engineering standards to improve efficiency and accuracy of project execution.
• Provide technical sales support to RoviSys business development team.
• Interfacing with clients in design meetings and conference calls.
• Working with project team leading less experienced engineers and taking direction from project manager or lead engineer.
• Programming Rockwell controllers and FactoryTalk Batch applications.
• Designing electrical control cabinets and panels.
• Testing the system configuration to verify functions.
• Travel to client site for project meetings and system commissioning
