Job summary

Lonza in Greenwood, SC is seeking a control systems engineer to develop and support integrated automation and control software, including testing, validation, and project planning. You will design control systems and modifications from P&IDs and process diagrams while collaborating with a global team.

The role requires a Bachelor's in engineering or robotics with automation focus, strong communication, and Siemens/SCADA proficiency. On-site position with after-hours support on rotation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or Robotics with automation focus.
• Strong communication skills and ability to manage client expectations and project status.
• Know-how to interpret electrical wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings.
• Ability to safely troubleshoot control electrical wiring with safety in mind.
• SDLC knowledge and ability to develop test plans for software quality.
• Ability to estimate software-related project work with some planning.
• Proficiency in Siemens programming; familiarity with SCADA, drives, servo systems, and Windows/MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Designs control systems or modifications based on process diagrams and P&IDs.
• Collaborates with global controls engineering team on development projects and standards.
• Supports, configures and replicates PLC systems, SCADA, drive and servo configurations, and vision systems.
• Maintains software/hardware configuration data, documentation, and revision notes.
• Provides after-hours support on rotating schedule for plant operations.
