Job summary

HDR in Irvine, CA is seeking a Control Systems Coordinator/EIT to lead design and analysis of complex industrial process control systems. The role emphasizes process controls in water/wastewater, power, and process industries, with responsibilities spanning from concept to commissioning.

The candidate will work with DCS/SCADA platforms (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Modicon, Wonderware, Ignition) and support project deliverables, testing, and coordination. Travel may be required as projects evolve.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Be a Control Systems Coordinator/EIT that can focus primarily on process controls.
• Participate in the design of complex industrial process control systems.
• Participate in process control design for water/wastewater, solid waste, power and process industries.
• Participate in process, controls, and instrumentation technology assessments and systems evaluations.
• Conduct analyses to develop chemical or process related design options or recommendations.
• Assist in the preparation of project deliverables (engineering drawings, cost estimates, specifications).
• Assist with selection and specification of process instrumentation, control panels, and network equipment.
• Assist with system testing and commissioning activities.
• Assist with design and construction project coordination tasks.
• Perform routine engineering assignments requiring standard techniques and procedures.
• Complete projects with clear objectives and limited variables.
• Work independently on small projects or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects.
• Give directions to clerical and technical personnel.
• Perform other duties as needed.
