Job summary

TMEIC Corporation Americas in Roanoke, Virginia, is seeking an engineer to research, develop, and deploy control software, graphics, 3D rendering and computer vision solutions for power products. You will work with cross-functional teams to identify technologies and turn them into tangible product features.

The role requires a BS in engineering, 2 years of related experience, and strong C++ and graphics/programming skills (OpenCV, DirectX, OpenGL, C#).

Qualifications

• BS degree in electrical, mechanical, software or related engineering; or related science; or equivalent by education/experience.
• 2 years' experience designing and engineering automation or control systems.
• Demonstrated programming with C++ and/or OpenCV/DirectX/OpenGL/C#.
• Demonstrated innovative problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to work with clients, suppliers and internal/external contacts.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
• Commitment to continuous improvement; proficient with MS Office.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Identify new technologies to address client needs or differentiate the company.
• Evaluate feasibility, cost, and benefits of new technologies.
• Incorporate technologies into power products with teams.
• Define modifications to tools and new features for engineering and commissioning.
• Maintain relationships with parent company for coordinated design and development.
• Provide technical consulting, coaching, and training to engineers.
• Support sales with technical presentations and proposal reviews.
• Identify and define interfaces between software modules.
• Write software modules to satisfy project requirements.
• Ensure inter-operation of modules within the overall project.
• Design and conduct simulations to verify software modules meet requirements.
