Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a Facilities Operator for the 2nd shift to monitor building automation and fire alarm systems across campus facilities. You will respond to emergencies, adjust environmental controls, and coordinate with trades to minimize downtime.
The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid MO/IL driver's license. The position is on-site with a 3:30 p.m.–11:30 p.m. schedule and provides opportunities for training and growth.

Operators monitor several building automation software systems and three unique fire alarm software systems to support the 24/7 operations of researchers and campus community partners. Provides emergency response for A/BSL3 laboratories, vivariums, data centers, climate rooms, freezer farms, and other various campus assets. In the event of degraded infrastructure, functions as dispatch for Facilities Engineering skilled trades to support the timely repair of degraded building systems during off-shifts.
Job Location/Working Conditions: 2nd shift typically works 3:30 p.m.- 11:30 p.m. Normal office environment. High noise environment. Exposure to animals. Stockroom or warehouse. Requires extensive safety training. Exposure to moving machinery. Exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Dust, dirt, grease, or other disagreeable elements. Alternative work schedule as a regular part of the job (on-call, shifts, evening, weekends).

$21.17 - $32.85 / Hourly The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
