Florida State University is seeking a Technical Research Designer, Level I to support the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory in Tallahassee, FL. The role focuses on operating and maintaining DC high magnetic field facility systems, assisting users, and coordinating with campus and city partners.

The position emphasizes safety, preventative maintenance, and engineering support to improve uptime and reliability. Regular on-site work with opportunities to contribute to facility projects.

Formación

• High school diploma or equivalent; four years of experience required.
• Post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.

Responsabilidades

• Operate and maintain facility equipment and systems to support the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory's DC high magnetic field user program.
• Monitor and safely operate facility equipment; coordinate with the City of Tallahassee for power levels.
• Perform engineering tasks on the Distributed Control System (DCS), including graphic, trend group and control group building, logic development and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate, prepare and issue Lock, Tag, Verify procedures for maintenance and safety compliance.
• Assist with preventative maintenance programs and tracking performance of water-cooled magnets.
• Provide training to users and staff on safe magnet operations and safety procedures.
• Assist with determining design and operation changes to improve operations, capabilities, reliability and uptime; participate in facility projects.
