Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a Control Room Technician for B Shift at the River Valley Ingredients facility in Hanceville, AL. The role focuses on operating and monitoring SCADA, PLCs, and HMIs to ensure safe and efficient processing of materials into finished products.

Expect active troubleshooting and collaboration with maintenance and production teams. Base pay starts at $22.85 per hour with a schedule Thursday through Sunday, 6pm to 6am.

Qualifications

• Experience: at least 6 months with a single employer in the past 12 months.
• Rehire Waiting Period: minimum 180 days since last Tyson Foods employment.
• Rehire Rule: not considered if you have worked 3 or more times for Tyson Foods.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor control systems including SCADA, PLCs, and HMIs to control production processes.
• Monitor process parameters, equipment status, and production metrics for optimal performance.
• Respond to alarms and deviations; troubleshoot and take corrective actions.
• Coordinate with production, maintenance, and other stakeholders to optimize schedules and minimize downtime.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on control systems and equipment.
• Follow SOPs, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe workplace.
• Record production data and readings in logbooks and computerized systems.
• Communicate with team members and supervisors to report issues and coordinate activities in the control room.
• Provide training to junior operators on control system operation and safety.
• Participate in continuous improvement to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
