Job summary

Greenville Utilities is seeking a Control Room Operator I/II for its 24/7 control center in Greenville, NC. You will dispatch information, monitor SCADA and related systems, communicate with customers, and generate service orders while supporting storm restoration per the Emergency Plan.

Minimum requirements include 1+ year experience, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver's license. Training for 12-hour night shifts and weekends will apply after onboarding.

Qualifications

• Over one year of experience.
• Proficient in oral communication.
• Ability to multitask in daily job performance.
• High school diploma/GED.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Experience with SCADA, GIS, CIS, OMS, and WMS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Dispatching information to crews and departments on a daily basis over GUC's computer, telephone, and radio systems, along with operating computerized remote control system equipment.
• Communicating with internal and external customers.
• Reading and analyzing computerized data, gauges, meters, and charts.
• Generating service orders based on information received from various customers, GUC personnel, and departments.
• Notifying appropriate personnel regarding alarms on all associated systems.
• Monitoring and operating each department's Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition Systems.
• Maintaining various communications and operational logs.
• Assisting with restoration of facilities during storm situations as stated in the GUC Emergency Plan.
