Job summary

NAES Corporation seeks a Control Room Operator for the Long Ridge Energy Generation Facility. The CRO will oversee safe, reliable operation of gas and steam turbines, HRSG, and generator from the control room, and coordinate with dispatch and field teams.

You will monitor DCS/SCADA, respond to alarms, document performance, and ensure regulatory compliance while supporting maintenance activities and plant reliability. This role requires 12-hour rotating shifts and 24/7 coverage.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in power plant technology, engineering technology, process technology, or related field.
• Extensive experience in power plant operations, including control room operation and DCS monitoring.
• Knowledge of combined-cycle plant equipment, HRSGs, turbines, generators, and related systems.
• Experience with water chemistry and maintaining proper steam/HRSG chemistry.
• Ability to provide operational direction and coordinate field activities.
• Commitment to safe and environmentally compliant plant operations (LOTO, safety).
• Strong verbal and written communication with plant personnel, management, customers, and grid operators.
• Must have a valid U.S. driver’s license and keep it in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements and NAES compliance programs.
• Operate, monitor, and shut down gas turbine, steam turbine, HRSG, and generator per procedures.
• Monitor plant equipment via DCS/SCADA and respond to alarms.
• Adjust operations to optimize generation, heat rate, and fuel efficiency.
• Coordinate operations with customers, dispatchers, and stakeholders for generation schedules.
• Respond to emergencies and diagnose issues to protect personnel and equipment.
• Keep accurate operating logs and document abnormalities and deficiencies.
• Direct field operations and assist plant operators in-rounds and training.
• Test and monitor water chemistry to maintain proper steam and HRSG conditions.
• Coordinate LOTO, maintenance testing, and CMMS documentation.
