Job summary

Reworld is hiring for a Stationary Engineer role in Massachusetts. The candidate will operate and monitor steam generation systems and associated equipment, ensuring safe, efficient plant performance.

You will read meters, adjust controls, and maintain logs while training others in operating principles. Required is a Massachusetts Second Class Engineer’s license or higher, plus at least three years’ boiler experience.

Qualifications

  • Massachusetts Second Class Engineer’s license or higher is required.
  • At least three years of experience with high‑pressure boilers and electric generating equipment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Control the operation of steam generation, condensate, feed water, turbine/generator, circulating water, service water, fuel handling, ash handling, electrical, fire protection, and related networks.
  • Read and interpret meters, gauges, recorders, and annunciators to determine system operating conditions and take action per procedures.
  • Adjust and monitor temperatures, pressures, flow and levels on primary system components for plant optimization.
  • Initiate and conduct periodic surveillance tests and safety checks.
  • Maintain logs and calculations; monitor logs for faulty operation and report abnormal conditions.
  • Monitor pumps, motors, valves, fans, dampers, grates, augers, conveyors, dust collection equipment.
  • Ensure fire protection systems and emergency backup equipment operability.
  • Monitor air pollution control equipment and report malfunctions.
  • Understand and train other operators on plant systems.

Apply today!About the roleTo be considered for this position the individual must have a valid Massachusetts Second Class Engineer’s license or higher, at least three years previous experience with high pressure boilers and electric generating equipment, or formal technical training and a High School Diploma or equivalent.Control the operation of systems including steam generation, condensate, feed water, turbine/generator, circulating water, service water, fuel handling, ash handling, electrical, fire protection, air pollution control and various computer networks.Read and interpret meters, gauges, recorders, and annunciators to determine system operating conditions; takes action within prescribed normal and emergency operating procedures.Adjust and monitor temperatures, pressures, flow and levels on station primary system components for plant optimization.Initiate and conduct periodic surveillance tests on operating safety checks and tests on operating conditions.Maintain required logs and calculations; observe these logs for indications of faulty operation; notify supervisor of abnormal system conditions.Monitor operation of systems and components including pumps, motors, valves, fans, dampers, grates, augers, conveyors, dust collections, etc.Monitors operability of fire protection systems, emergency backup equipment, electrical supply equipment and instrumentation associated with station systems and components.Monitoring air pollution control equipmentAccurately reading and recording data, and reporting equipment malfunctions or trends, which indicate possible equipment dangerIdentifying and correcting abnormal operating conditions or emergency situationsUnderstand and train other Operators on the operating principles of the power facility’s systems, components and steam cycles.All Reworld positions require a candidate's ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the role while upholding Reworld's Values, including (but not limited to) contributing to a safe and inclusive workplace, delivering results through trust, and building breakthrough capabilities.Please note that Level, Title and/or Salary may be adjusted based on the applicant's experience or skills.Pay TransparencyReworld is committed to paying its staff equitably, and we strive to provide competitive compensation and benefits packages. The final salary offered for this role will be determined based on factors including, but not limited to: experience, education, geographic location, skills and competencies, travel requirements and/or union contracts (if applicable).
