Job summary

Keys Energy Center seeks a Control Room Operator to ensure safe, reliable operation of the 761MW natural gas-fired, combined-cycle plant. You will monitor turbines, troubleshoot issues, record data, and follow senior directives while adhering to procedures.

The role requires 3+ years operating Aeroderivative turbines, experience with Siemens T3000 and Ovation, and an engineering background. Candidates should be able to work rotating shifts, communicate clearly, and maintain compliance with

Qualifications

  • 3+ years operating Aeroderivative combustion turbines.
  • Experience with Siemens T3000 and Ovation control systems.
  • Engineering background (college or military training).
  • Strong technical, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams, handling confidential information discreetly.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor combustion turbines, auxiliary equipment, and control room systems safely and efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement emergency procedures as needed.
  • Record and analyze data from meters, gauges, and monitoring systems.
  • Communicate plant conditions clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Train operators and ensure shift maintenance tasks are completed.
  • Operate computer systems (e.g., Siemens T3000, Ovation) for data analysis and input.
  • Work rotating shifts, respond to 24/7 callouts, and perform physical tasks (standing, climbing, squatting).
  • Perform other assigned duties.

Following plant procedures and Senior Operations Supervisor directives, the operator exercises judgment in the absence of specific instructions, adhering to safety and environmental policies.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Operate and monitor combustion turbines, auxiliary equipment, and control room systems safely and efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and implement emergency procedures as needed.

  • Discern verbal and auditory signals from control panels.
Summary

Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record, as this position requires occasional travel for company business. Candidates should be comfortable operating a vehicle as part of their job responsibilities and must meet any applicable company and insurance requirements.
