Job description

Control Room Officer – oversees security operations from a central control room.

Wage Range: $18.45-21.71 per hour

Responsibilities

• Maintain and secure log books and other security property
• Dispatch guards and resources as needed
• Properly manage emergencies and take appropriate actions for alarms
• Utilize call lists and monitor cameras and alarms
• Lock and unlock doors via security systems
• Fill out reports and work orders promptly
• Patrol interior and exterior areas and escort personnel when required
• Walk 5–7 miles per shift and perform static control access to building
• Follow proper badge protocols and provide customer service
• Multi‑task and work effectively under high‑pressure situations
• Use computer systems for dispatch and documentation (SOC is computer heavy)

Qualifications & Requirements

• Dispatch experience required
• Excellent customer‑service skills
• Must pass a drug screen and background check
• Must meet and continue to meet licensing requirements for security officers/guards (state, county, municipal)
• Basic computer knowledge and skills; familiarity with security technologies
• Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, navigate uneven terrain; lift up to 10–25 lbs as needed
• Ability to operate while standing or walking for extended periods
