Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Automation Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of automation/controls engineering experience.
• Experience in manufacturing environments (metals, automotive, food, pharma or similar).

Control Engineer

$100,000 - $150,000 | Youngstown, OH

Position Overview

This role is focused on delivering custom automation and controls systems end-to-end, from initial concept through to commissioning and startup. You'll work closely with both internal teams and customers to design, build, and deploy complex systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate with customers and internal teams to define system requirements
• Take projects from concept through to fully functional systems from a blank sheet of paper
• Develop engineering documentation including BOMs, panel layouts, and electrical schematics
• Work across technologies including PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), HMI development, and embedded programming
• Apply modern automation technologies to solve complex, process-specific challenges
• Support commissioning, startup, and field service at customer sites (travel required)

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Automation Engineering
• 5+ years of automation / controls engineering experience
• Experience within manufacturing environments (metals, automotive, food, pharma, or similar)
• Strong communication skills with ability to produce clear documentation
• Self-motivated with a hands-on, problem-solving mindset
