Job summary

CES/AWS in Lansing, MI is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to supervise, manage, and maintain controls on existing and new manufacturing equipment. This hands-on role supports production, maintenance, and continuous improvement to drive operational excellence in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Industrial Electrician or Millwright certification preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of Controls Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical and control systems from high-voltage AC to low-voltage DC.
  • Develop and implement controls solutions for manufacturing cells, including cooling and machine vision systems.
  • Develop controls solutions for secondary manufacturing equipment and support installations.
  • Develop and maintain equipment documentation and reporting systems.
  • Provide technical leadership to production, maintenance, engineering and other departments.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime and improve productivity.
  • Research and implement new technologies to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and special engineering projects.
  • Assist with spare parts planning and equipment sourcing recommendations.

Our client is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to supervise, manage, and maintain controls on existing and new manufacturing equipment. This is a hands‑on engineering role supporting production, maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives while helping drive operational excellence in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical and control systems ranging from high-voltage AC to low-voltage DC circuits.
  • Develop and implement controls solutions for integrated manufacturing cells, including:
  • Cooling systems
  • Machine vision systems
  • Develop controls solutions for secondary manufacturing equipment.
  • Specify and support new manufacturing equipment installations.
  • Develop and maintain equipment documentation and reporting systems.
  • Provide technical support and leadership to production, maintenance, engineering, and other departments.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues to minimize downtime and improve productivity.
  • Research and implement new technologies to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and special engineering projects.
